Description
Spectratek Systems Limited is a New Zealand registered private company based in Silverstream, Wellington, New Zealand. The company was formed in 1992. The principal officer has over 30 years experience in the electronics industry throughout New Zealand, much of this time concentrating business activity in the HF radio communications sector of the market.
In 1995 Spectratek expanded it's business activities, forming a joint venture with TR Systems Limited, another Wellington based radio communications research and development company. The joint operation was contracted to design and manufacture a portable HF SSB radio transceiver for land-based search and rescue and mountain safety. The product continues to be manufactured and is marketed to a number of Government Departments, Search and Rescue, Law Enforcement and Mountain Safety organisations throughout the country.
This joint venture combines Spectratek’s manufacturing and marketing capabilities with the RF design and development resources of our joint venture partner.
Spectratek actively represents and promotes a number of international suppliers of HF radio equipment and ancillary products.
Marketing Strategy
Spectratek Systems Limited long-term strategy is to market a complimentary range of High Frequency radio communications systems and ancillary products and services, offering professionally designed and integrated radio solutions to Government, Military and Commercial clients.
We recognize the specialised nature of the market segment Spectratek specifically targets and in the past have formed business relationships with a number of organisations on specific projects. These relationships have enhanced our customer support facility and we are keen to encourage further business arrangements of this nature.
Manufacturing
RF testing, final assembly and quality assurance of our products are performed in a professionally equipped testing and production facility. Sub contactors are employed with strict adherence to certified QA procedures to manufacture component and sub assemblies for subsequent testing and final assembly at our on-site manufacturing facility.
Service And Support
With the establishment of the joint venture agreement, Spectratek has the facility for full in-country service and support including systems design and development and a technical training facility for all equipment supplied and marketed throughout New Zealand.
Support of existing equipment, supplied by previous distributors, is of paramount importance to Spectratek's future growth plans. Equipment already installed will continue to be fully supported by Spectratek.
A nationwide network of independent service organisations has been established to maintain installed equipment on an as required or contractual basis.
Quality Assurance
Spectratek maintains strict internal QA Management Standards and Procedures compliant with ISO recommendations although not as yet fully accredited to ISO9000. Spectratek's QA policy is a mandatory requirement in accordance with our international suppliers distribution agreements.
Resources
The expanded organisation has a total full-time staff of three in sales and marketing and engineering and design. A number of part-time contract staff are employed in production and assembly.
